Nutrition Counseling Times & Fees
I recommend that you set up a quick phone consult with me before requesting an appointment, however, you may also request appointments without first meeting me.
15 minute phone consults: Please fill out contact request on home page or bottom of this page. This is free!
Initial Appointment: 60 minutes at a price of $180.
Follow Up Sessions: 30 minutes at a price of $130.
I do require a credit card to be on file for all clients. I can offer sliding scale, so please don't hesitate to reach out.
What does telehealth look like?
I run my telehealth services through the site SimplePractice. When you go to schedule an appointment, you will be transferred to that site. This will allow us to meet online on your laptop, tablet or phone. New clients must request initial appointments.
What to prepare for first appointment?
Please fill out all documents that SimplePractice will have waiting for you in their portal.
What will a session be like?
Our first session may be more pragmatic in the first 15-30 minutes, as I gather any other data I need from you or answer any questions you have. We will discuss your nutrition goals and get started. Sessions that occur after will be following up on your goals, nutrition education and problem solving together.
How does insurance work?
I currently take Regence BlueShield, see below for further information regarding coverage. I am also in the process of becoming credentialed with other insurances. However, I do offer Superbills if requested. We can discuss this further in a session or a phone consult.
Insurance 101:
Please check with your insurance on coverage for nutrition counseling before booking with me. I must have a diagnosis from another healthcare provider in order to provide insurance covered services. Superbills are available for all other insurance companies, but may or may not assist you with payments.
Steps for you to to take to ensure coverage from your insurance:
1) Ask if the CPT codes 97802, 97803, and 97804 are covered.
2) Ask if a referral or prior authorization is required for in-network or out of network providers.
3) Ask if diagnosis codes are required. If so, obtain these from your primary care physician or mental health specialist (therapist/psychiatrist). (I can also request these.)
4) Ask if a copay is needed at the time of visit.
